This role is part of Humana's Variable Staffing Pool.

The Senior Associate Benefits Professional (VSP/PT) utilizes deep understanding of contemporary practice and the associate community to develop and implement competitive benefit opportunities that contribute to associates and emphasize perceived value while balancing expense and business requirements, including regulatory compliance. Begins to influence department’s strategy. Makes decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach for project components, and work is performed without direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.

In this role the associate will work to understand the impact for associates joining the company through mergers and acquisitions. The associate will work to understand the financial impact based on limited information available. The associate will exercise judgement to understand and quantify the risks based on the data available. Compliance and associate experience components associated with the transaction and integration will also be considered and clearly communicated to leaders.

Required qualifications:

  • 5+ year experience in employee benefits or employee benefits M&A

  • Bachelor's degree in business, HR, economics, finance or accounting

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, xlookup, complex if/then statements

  • General understanding of financial statements

Preferred qualifications:

  • Basic SQL

  • Master’s degree in business

Variable Staffing Pool Associates

This role is part of the Variable Staffing Pool( VSP), which pays at an hourly rate. Variable Staffing Pool Humana associates work part to full time hours based on business need. VSPs are not eligible for associate bonuses and receive limited benefits, which are effective upon hire. The hours for this role are generally aligned based on the associate and business task at hand.

WAH Internet Statement

To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees’ ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees must meet the following criteria:

At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is required; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested. Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership. Employees who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense. Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job. Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.

$78,400 - $107,800 per year
