Bank OZK Director of Credit Monitoring in Little Rock, Arkansas
Job Purpose & Scope
- Provides Credit Risk Management leadership with continuous, independent, and objective assessments of business line and loan product credit risk profiles. Works with functional business partners and business line management to identify, measure, monitor and control the Bank’s credit risk profile within the Bank’s risk appetite framework.
Essential Job Functions
Engages with lending verticals to develop and assess the adequacy of KPI/KRIs to drive credit risk profile metrics and facilitate credit risk appetite reporting.
Demonstrates subject matter expertise and credibly challenges line management regarding credit performance and conformity with the risk appetite.
Engages with line management to understand concerns regarding the execution of risk controls and emerging risks that could impact business initiatives and credit performance.
Collaborates with and influences functional business partners, leaders, and executive management to support and drive strategic initiatives.
Provides strategic insights on macroeconomic and regulatory issues that could impact lending vertical performance.
Coordinates with Operational Risk Management to ensure the RCSA framework for lending verticals are appropriated suited.
Coordinates with Model Risk Management to provide subject matter expert judgement on credit risk related items within related pricing, underwriting scorecard and CECL models.
Coordinates with risk leadership to develop new or modified product and service risk assessments for credit related topics.
Prepares quarterly emerging risk reports.
Presents lending vertical risk assessments to the Credit Risk Management Council (CRMC).
Implements risk strategies and influences change through effective relationship management.
Promotes a culture of operational excellence and risk awareness.
Travels for company business, as needed.
Regularly exercises discretion and judgment in the performance of essential job functions.

Expert knowledge of credit products and credit delivery processes.
Comprehensive knowledge of credit principles and loan operations.
Comprehensive knowledge of second line of defense philosophies and tactics.
Functional knowledge in data analytics and quantitative modeling.
Knowledge of federal banking rules, laws, and regulations.
Knowledge of credit, liquidity and market risk including regulatory guidelines and requirements.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, accounting, or finance preferred, or an equivalent combination of related education and experience required.
8+ years of commercial credit experience with a commercial banking organization or regulatory agency required.
5+ years of commercial credit review experience in a leadership role, preferred.
