The Microelectronics, Design, and Applications (MDA) organization is seeking a Sr. Principal / Staff Factory Systems – Systems Engineering Integration & Test (SEIT) Lead to join our team and pioneer new approaches, design and implement technologies for a computer integrated manufacturing system. You’ll work in a fast-paced team environment alongside physicists, design engineers, and superconducting foundry engineers to make these technologies a reality.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Define software and hardware integration strategy and develop test roadmap/plan for advanced digital platforms supporting manufacturing and fabrication of microelectronics

  • Support planning, design, development, and installation of manufacturing automation tools and services

  • Collaborate with solution providers and partners to verify capabilities satisfy program requirements

  • Design validation approaches to ensure the system fulfills its operational objectives and stakeholder requirements in its intended operational setting

  • Ensure system technical compliance with the program Statement of Work (SOW) and system requirements

  • Lead system engineering activities: trade studies, analysis of alternatives, requirement decomposition/allocation, requirement verification/validation, process development, roadmap development

This position will serve on-site in Linthicum/ Annapolis Junction, MD .

Basic Qualifications for Staff Factory Automation SEIT Lead:

  • Bachelor's degree in STEM area (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math), with 12+ years as a systems engineer working with complex integrated systems or a Masters degree in STEM area with 10+ years as a systems engineer working with complex integrated systems or a PHD in STEM area with 7+ years as a systems engineer working with complex integrated systems.

  • Able to drive execution of Statement of Work (SOW) components with vendors and work with a cross-functional team

  • Experience in systems or software development, integration, and test

  • Demonstrated requirements management from elicitation to verification, facilitating internal and customer collaboration to capture and enhance engineering artifacts

  • Experience managing risk and opportunity for production of core engineering work products

  • Experience with technology roadmap development, management, communication and implementation

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present frequent updates to management

  • Must be willing to work on site 100% of time

  • Limited travel to local Northrop Grumman facilities may be required

  • This position requires the applicant to be a U.S. citizen.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI with poly clearance per business requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance per business requirements

  • Understanding of how modules integrate with broader systems in a Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM) architecture for semiconductor or microelectronics fabrication

  • Experience with modern automated factory systems in a semiconductor or microelectronics fab

  • Understanding of DoD systems engineering requirements approach

  • Knowledge of Systems Engineering processing from generation of an Integrated Master Plan (IMP) to Work Product Breakdown into Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) for the development of complex systems of systems

  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and software tools, i.e. Atlassian tools stack - Jira, Confluence

Salary Range: $163,200.00 - $256,400.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
