Founded in 1938, Wilcox Medical Center is a not-for-profit hospital dedicated to providing the Kaua'i community with accessible, quality health care. The Sterile Services team plays a vital role in ensuring that medical and other needed equipment is readily available to units throughout our facilities. This department cleans, prepared, assembles, sterilizes, distributes, and ensures the quality of all surgical instruments and medical equipment so that our physicians and staff can effectively carry out their work in caring for Hawai‘i’s people.
Under the direction of the Charge Nurse or Registered Nurse, you will assist the perioperative care team in many aspects of patient care, including but not limited to, patient care assistance, care of environment, transportation of patients, supplies/equipment, specimens, and blood products to, from, and within the surgical unit. You will also assist with surgical instrument processing; assisting with OR inventory management, and with clerical functions. You need to have the ability to function effectively in a busy environment and to adapt to rapid changes in work assignments. You will participate as an active team member to uphold the mission of the organization, to support administration, and to optimize department goals and objectives.

Minimum qualification: High school or equivalent.
Preferred qualification: One (1) year experience as a hospital nurse aide, preferably in acute care setting.
