MAG Test and Evaluation Engineer (NGTS) in Lexington Park, Maryland

MAG Aerospace is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Test and Evaluation Eningeer (NGTS) to join our team. As the Test and Evaluation Engineer, you will support the Next Generation Threat System (NGTS) development team and training device owners in a wide array of responsibilities. NGTS is a highly advanced virtual training system offering Navy and Air Force pilots the ability to train in a mission setting.

Requires a Top Secret Security Clearance

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Duties include, but not limited to:

  • Developing test verification and validation schedules to ensure adequate access to required personnel and training assets for all testing phases. Testing resources range from in-house lab resources to off-site distributed training centers.

  • Preparing and presenting all materials required for the pre and post-testing Systems Engineering Technical Review (SETR) events (e.g., Test Readiness Review, System Verification Review)

  • Providing T&E input to other SETR events (e.g., System Requirements Review, Preliminary/Critical Design Review) as needed.

  • Creating simulation scenarios for the test tools/harnesses to drive test procedures.

  • Documenting the test case traceability to the requirements specifications to ensure all requirements have adequate coverage.

  • Test planning for integration testing.

  • Developing documentation to include test reports, procedures, and plans.

  • Position may require the ability for limited travel (approx. 10%)

  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with internal and external customers.

  • Utilize professional and effective communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Take a proactive approach to your work and you're able to accomplish tasks with limited guidance and supervision.

  • Demonstrat critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

  • Organizational skills must be impressive, allowing you to effectively manage competing priorities.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements

Knowledge and Skills

The required skills and knowledge include:

  • Must know US Navy Link-16 functions including, but not limited to, J-Message construction, MIL-STD-6016 interpretation, Joint Network Library (JNL) files, and general datalink usage for both C2 and Non-C2 platforms

  • Must be able to integrate Datalink processes into NGTS Live / Virtual / Constructive simulations.

  • Well-versed with Joint Range Extension Application Protocol (JREAP) integration with Link 16

  • Demonstrated experience in System of System (SoS) architectures including both datalink and LVC systems.

  • Must be familiar with the NGTS application.

The minimum years of related experience required:

  • 4 years of experience in test and evaluation

Education

The minimum level of education required is:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent technical degree

Desired Requirements

The desired skills, knowledge, and education include:

  • Training systems, aircraft system/subsystem development test and evaluation, or software and hardware for software application development

  • Experience with mission systems and training simulators.

  • Experience with test procedure development, test conduct, and test report development.

Other Qualifications

Outside of the above, other certifications, licenses, or clearances include:

  • U.S. citizenship

  • active DoD Top Secret clearance
