Senior Software Application Specialist

KBR is seeking a Senior Software Application Specialist to join our team. As a part of one of the world’s largest independent logistics organizations supporting both US Government and commercial agencies, you will be joining a highly talented and experienced KBR Logistics team providing FMS Logistics services to all NAVAIR aviation programs.

As a winner of the National Logistics Contract, the selected applicant will work within the Security Cooperation Office (SSCO) composed of government, military, contractor and industry personnel while supporting FMS logistics projects.

Role and Responsibilities: ​

  • S upport the government by helping to research, design, and develop computer and network software or specialized utility programs.

  • Develops management systems and information technology applications.

  • Under minimal direction, designs, develops, troubleshoots, debugs, and implements software code (such as HTML, CGI, and JavaScript).

  • Works with graphic designers and other members of a project team to develop the site concept, interface design, and architecture of the software requirements.

  • Responsible for interface implementation and integrating web applications with backend databases.

  • Researches, tests, builds, and coordinates the integration of new applications per client requirements.

  • Translates functional requirements into technical code from specifications.

  • Responsible for communicating status and updates to all stakeholders.

  • Leads other technical team members.

  • Most work will be conducted on-site at NAS Patuxent River, MD, however, some domestic and international travel will be required in support of logistics activities.

Basic Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree in a related field plus 5 years of experience providing continuing application development and assessments, of varying depth and scope, of all milestone accomplishments and technical objectives . 13 years of related work experience will be accepted in lieu of a degree.

  • Experience with at least one of the following technologies: Lotus Domino, SQL, Oracle, Visual Studio/.NET, Cold Fusion, jQuery, JavaScript.

  • Experience in software development methodologies and best practices.

  • An active secret level security clearance. Applicant selected may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

  • Must be able to operate in a dynamic and fast-paced team environment.

  • Must be able to operate effectively at remote work sites without direct supervision.

  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and similar computer-based productivity applications.
