Baptist Health Systems Research Finance Analyst in Lexington, Kentucky

Baptist Health is looking for a Research Finance Analyst to join our team in Lexington, KY

The Research Financial Analyst will assist in the financial management and administrative tasks associated with the office of research administration. Primary responsibilities include working with the Research Finance Manager, Research Business Specialist and clinical research team to help manage the overall financial life cycle of clinical trials, develop coverage analyses, as assigned, provide analysis on clinical trial budgets, and to invoice study sponsors for study activities performed. The Financial Analyst will reconcile received payments to the clinical trial management system (CTMS), will assist in ongoing reporting, and will prepare the proper closure of study related accounts. The ideal individual will have a background in business/finance with experience in clinical research, medical billing/coding, healthcare compliance/auditing, or equivalent experience in accounting/finance. Perform variety of duties and responsibilities as well as project assignments.

Essential Duties:

  • Develops detailed final budgets by identifying all activities, tests and procedures to be performedduring the conduct of the study based on the study protocol, event calendar, and other study relateddocuments.

  • Works with Research Business Manager to create schedules in CTMS and develop any necessarywork process resources and documents.

  • Supports the clinical research team in the financial management of clinical trials by performinginvoicing and accounts receivable functions, including tracking and monitoring.

  • Generates reports to project study financials.

  • Reconciles payments received to CTMS.

  • Resolves any financial issues with sponsor as needed and supports the process of review ofrevenue received prior to study closure.

Minimum Education, Experience, Training and Licensures Required

  • Bachelor's degree required in the field of accounting, finance or health administration or two or more years of experience in clinical research, medical billing/coding, healthcare compliance/auditing, data management or equivalent experience

  • Four plus years in accounting/finance in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
