Kentucky Blood Center Reference Lab Technologist (MT/MLS/CLS) 2nd Shift Mon-Fri in Lexington, Kentucky

Schedule: Monday-Friday 3:00pm-11:30pm with on-call rotation.
Kentucky Blood Center is seeking a qualified medical technologist to perform and interpret serological procedures on specimens submitted for compatibility testing. This position also acts as an expert problem solver, and will resolve issues related to antibodies, blood typing, and cross-matching. The role regularly interacts with hospital laboratories, helping them find answers, and communicating findings.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, highly preferred.
Undergrad degree in Biology may suffice with the appropriate combination of certification credential and experience.
Professional Certification - MT (ASCP), CLS(ASCP), or other equivalent qualifications, preferred (required for Biology majors).
BB(ASCP) or SBB(ASCP) Certification is a plus.
Laboratory experience including blood group serology, blood banking, or transfusion medicine.
Requires the visual ability to differentiate and identify specific colors, and various shades.
Proof of education must be provided during the interview process.
