Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Plant Accountant to join our team. The Plant Accountant will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities related to our plant operations. This individual will play a key role in ensuring the financial integrity of the plant, providing financial analysis and insights to support decision-making, and implementing and maintaining robust financial controls.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting and Analysis:

  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for the plant.

  • Provide variance analysis and explanations for financial performance against budget and forecast.

  • Identify trends, risks, and opportunities and make recommendations to improve financial performance.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Lead the annual budgeting process for the plant, collaborating with plant management and corporate finance.

  • Develop accurate forecasts based on historical data, market trends, and operational insights.

  • Monitor performance against budget and forecast, identifying areas for improvement or cost savings.

Cost Accounting and Control:

  • Establish and maintain effective cost accounting processes to accurately track production costs.

  • Analyze manufacturing variances and work with operations teams to drive cost reduction initiatives.

  • Implement and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard plant assets and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

Inventory Management:

  • Oversee inventory management processes, including valuation, reconciliation, and physical inventory counts.

  • Monitor inventory levels and aging to optimize working capital and minimize obsolete inventory.

Capital Investment Analysis:

  • Evaluate capital investment proposals and provide financial analysis to support decision-making.

  • Assess the financial feasibility and ROI of capital projects, considering factors such as NPV, IRR, and payback period.

Financial Planning and Strategy:

  • Collaborate with plant management and corporate finance to develop long-term financial plans and strategies.

  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to support business initiatives and drive profitability.

    Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred.

  • Minimum of [Insert number of years] years of experience in financial management, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

  • Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and manufacturing processes.

  • Proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.

  • Experience with ERP systems and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
