Physical RequirementsThe physical requirements of this position include traversing the hospital on a daily basis completing rounds and providing patient care and regularly sitting at a computer workstation for extended periods of time.

ShiftPrimarily Monday Friday 8am-5pm, with occasional evenings and weekends per departmental needs.

Job SummaryUK HealthCare is an inclusive health system committed to providing spiritual guidance and emotional support to our patients, staff, and patient families. We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Pastoral Care Director to join our team and lead our efforts in pastoral care.


The Pastoral Care Director will manage all pastoral care staff, volunteers, and students. Additional responsibilities include managing patient care assignments and monitoring of patient activities; ensuring staff is appropriate for Chandler, Good Samaritan, Kentucky Children's Hospital, and other inpatient/outpatient UKHC sites; managing and preparing budget; utilizing data, benchmarks, and industry resources to forecast, assess, and enhance services to deliver care to patients, staff, and patient families.

Skills / Knowledge / AbilitiesThe ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrated ability to provide compassionate care and counseling, excellent organizational and leadership abilities, and proficiency in using software and other relevant technology for data analysis.

Does this position have supervisory responsibilities? YesPreferred Education/ExperienceMaster's Degree and 6 years of experience in pastoral care or related ministry role required. Qualified candidates must be a Board-Certified Chaplain (BCC).
