First Utah bank Retail Branch Manager in Lehi, Utah

Job Descriptions:

$2,000 Signing Bonus (half after 30 days; half after 90 days)

A retail branch manager leads a team responsible for exceptional customer service, operational soundness, and the maintenance of long-term profitable customer relationships. The branch manager is expected to have thorough knowledge of bank systems, products, services, policies and applicable bank regulation. This position works closely with the Director of Retail Banking and the Director of People Experience & Insights to attain branch- and Bank-established goals.

This specific role is for our de novo Lehi Branch. Responsibilities will include growing First Utah Bank’s presence in Utah County and growing customer base and deposits in the market through community engagement, business calling, developing COIs and engaging with community leaders and influencers.

Required Experience:

Leadership:

  • Responsible for the overall performance and operations of the branch.

  • Responsible for the sales leadership and customer service and experience of the branch by overseeing both inside and outside sales efforts of the employees.

  • Responsible for the management of branch personnel. This includes coaching, developing, and building a high performing team to execute the strategic growth and goals of the branch by recruiting, hiring and developing employees.

  • Responsible for interviewing and hiring branch personnel and completes performance evaluations, advancements, and terminations of branch employees with assistance from Branch Service Manager.

Branch Operations:

  • Ensure the branch is in compliance with all bank policies, procedures, safety standards and physical security.

  • Maintain appropriate operational, credit, and security risk management oversight in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

  • Train and educate branch employees on job functions, policies, procedures, operations, etc.

  • Perform teller and banker duties as needed to include, but not limited to processing transactions, opening accounts, processing and closing loans, etc.

  • Use discretion to provide approvals and overrides within established authority.

Customer Service:

  • Business development officer; responsible for the expansion of existing business relationships and new business by calling on business customers, prospects, and COIs.

  • Resolve and respond to complex client service issues, complaints, and escalated questions.

  • Establish, expand, and maintain strong customer relationships by providing exceptional personalized customer service focused on the needs of each customer.

  • Perform outbound customer service, sales, and follow-up calls by phone and/or email.

  • Proactively engage with customers in person, by phone, and through email.

  • Maintain a friendly and respective demeanor by greeting customers and providing service with a smile.

Other Duties:

  • Actively participate in community development and provides service and support to local charities, chambers, and business partners.

  • Partner and engage with internal business partners to understand and refer other banking services such as merchant services, business lending and treasury management.

  • Become registered and licensed in the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS) as required by the S.A.F.E. Act.

  • Become a Notary Public.

Education:

High school diploma or general education (GED) required. A bachelor’s degree is preferred, but a two-year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school may be acceptable. A combination of education and experience may meet requirements.

Experience:

Retail banking experience and strong managerial competencies required

Skills:

Strong written and verbal communication skills, strong knowledge of computer programs, i.e. word processing, spreadsheets, etc., good understanding of the principals of banking and business operations, strong technical skills required to effectively use bank systems, train and coach staff, assist customers and provide exceptional service.
