Robert Half Accounts Payable Specialist in Lebanon, Pennsylvania

Description

We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for an Accounts Payable Specialist in Lebanon, Pennsylvania. This person will play a vital role in managing and processing payments for a company's vendors and suppliers while ensuring transactions comply with established financial policies. This is a highly detail-oriented role that requires excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review, verify, and enter invoices into the accounting system for accuracy

  • Match purchase orders and receipts to invoices and resolve discrepancies.

  • Execute payments to vendors via checks, electronic transfers, or other methods.

  • Prepare payment schedules and ensure timely disbursement to maintain positive vendor relationships.

  • Maintain accurate records of accounts payable transactions and documentation.

  • Conduct monthly reconciliations of accounts and resolve any outstanding balances.

  • Communicate with vendors regarding billing inquiries or payment issues.

  • Liaise with internal departments to ensure proper expense approvals and coding.

  • Generate regular reports on accounts payable activity for management review.

  • Assist in audits by providing detailed accounts payable records as needed.

Requirements

Key Qualifications:

  • An associate's degree or higher in accounting, finance, or a related field (preferred but not always required)

  • Proven experience in accounts payable, bookkeeping, or a similar accounting role

  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and vendor management systems

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel for data entry and reconciliations

  • High attention to detail and accuracy

  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills for vendor outreach
