Dartmouth Health Manager Business Perioperative Services in Lebanon, New Hampshire

Overview

Facilitates the integration, management and data needs for all of Perioperative Services.

Responsibilities

  • Leads operations groups in the development of optimal systems for quality patient care and efficient use of resources. Hires staff and manages their performance.

  • Maintains and shares awareness of pending systems revisions, issues and concerns under review, and their potential impact on departmental functioning.

  • Leads staff to achieve high levels of patient, physician and employee satisfaction.

  • Develops information tracking systems, preparing and displaying data concerning operations, improvement initiatives and system changes. Monitors divisional and departmental charge masters, billing, budget and variance reports, providing recommendations for improvement, simplification, compliance, etc.

  • Works with coders and financial resources to ensure accurate billing, rapid turn-around and tracking of volumes, expenses, etc. Prepares financial analyses for new programs in Perioperative Services.

  • Prepares, monitors, and reports the status of operations, revenue, personnel, and capital. Keeps accurate records as they pertain to these budgets and other fiscal programs to maximize revenues and minimize operating costs/expenses.

  • Organizes, develops, maintains and analyzes a variety of data bases and data systems (e.g., volumes, expenses, coding levels) to maintain a comprehensive, current set of information for the purpose of tracking and improving operations, and system process changes.

  • Oversees outreach activities including financial arrangements, contracts, operations, billing and coding.

  • Provides ad hoc reporting.

  • Maintains an on-going evaluation of the Hospital and Clinic price file (CPT). Recommends new and revised CPT codes and Clinic and Hospital fees. Makes changes internally to reflect changing payor requirements. Tracks physician and Hospital fee reimbursement.

  • Works with coders to ensure accurate, timely, and appropriate billing systems. Reviews monthly financial reports.

  • Performs operational, financial, practice, and personnel management functions for the department/sections.

  • Performs other duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with 3 years of relevant business or supervisory/management experience, preferably in a health care environment.

  • Master's degree preferred.

  • Excellent organization, interpersonal, oral and writing skills required.

  • Significant leadership abilities.

  • Previous healthcare finance background preferred.

  • Knowledge of computerized information systems, graphing and statistics.

  • Must be self-motivated, detail oriented, and analytical.

  • Excellent networking and oral /written communication skills with the ability to relate and deal effectively with physicians, administrators, support staff and the general public with tact and discretion.
