Job Title: Welding Supervisor

Job Description

We are seeking an additional Welding Supervisor on 2nd shift to share duties with the current supervisor. The Welding Supervisor is responsible for leading, organizing, and directing daily activities for the Weld Department. Currently, there are 10 welders on 2nd shift, but we aim to grow that number to 15-20 welders, split between the two supervisors.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure accuracy with all first part checks.

  • Train new employees on fitting, welding, and blueprint reading.

  • Mentor direct reports, identify areas for improvement, and provide training.

  • Conduct performance reviews, log journal entries, and hold one-on-one meetings with direct reports.

  • Complete daily balancing at the beginning of the shift for the previous day.

Essential Skills

  • 2+ years of welding leadership experience.

  • 5+ years of MIG welding experience.

  • Proficiency in blueprint reading.

  • Knowledge of weld symbols.

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.

  • Ability to measure parts in all dimensions and angles.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with MIG, TIG, and flux core welding.

  • Ability to read and interpret isometric drawings, including 2D and 3D renderings on Solidworks.

  • Strong communication skills.

  • Quality control experience.

  • Experience with fitting, fabrication, and working with various materials such as stainless steel and aluminum.

Work Environment

You will be working in a large job shop with over 90 employees spread across four different buildings on the same campus. The shift is from 2pm to 1am, Monday through Thursday, with occasional work required on Fridays. Our facility is equipped with advanced technologies and tools to support your welding and fabrication tasks.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Leavenworth, Kansas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $26.00/hr.
