KIHO MILITARY ACQUISITION CONSULTING, INC. Drone Pilot Technician in LAYTON, Utah

Draft test plan and analyze test flight missions for prototype drone/UAV with atypical aircraft geometry. Perform pre-flight, in-flight and post-flight checks and update procedures Provide test equipment programming and piloting support to Program Manager and/or mid-level Engineering personnel in the areas of drone test set-up, test report status and results Ensure and guide test crew in general safety requirements and compliance with all FAA regulations Demonstrate strong understanding of RC aircraft transmitters, receivers, model mixes, drone troubleshooting skills, and flight dynamics Participate in multiple missions a week and/or weekends, with access to FRIA airfield within Weber and Tooele County Ensure all flight operations follow FAA regulations and general safety standards; guide test crew on best practices Provide ongoing advice on aviation-related matters, including airspace regulations, waiver needs, and risk mitigation Assist in UAV assembly, configuration, and trou bleshooting, including inventory and component tracking Utilize flight execution and ground control software such as Q Ground Control, Mission Planner, and ATAK UAS tool Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Education/Training:

- - Associate's Degree in management or technical/scientific discipline required - Active FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate preferred

Experience:

- - 3+ years of professional experience in the required task area required - Drone/UAS test pilot experience required - Aircraft operations and maintenance experience desired

Security:

- - Must be a US citizen - Ability to obtain a security clearance may be required

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to assess, install, and modify equipment, and inspect machinery
  • Able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, grasp and reach with hands and arms, handle and operate hand/power tools and machine controls
  • Perform frequent wrist, hand, and finger movements
  • Prolonged periods of standing while operating machinery
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, including wearing appropriate safety gear (e.g., eyewear, gloves, masks, hearing protection, etc.) for the assigned task
  • Able to safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds at a time
