Themis Insight Database Engineer 2 in Laurel, Maryland

We are hiring a Database Engineer 2 to work in Laurel, MD. Position location is subject to change based on central MD client's needs.

Required: TS/SCI with a Polygraph

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Creating and implementing an EIS-wide data strategy.

  • Development of data management infrastructure and associated tools.

  • Meet requirements for compliance with regulatory policies and standards.

  • Create reports and gather information about systems performance to facilitate decisions.

  • Analyze and process data to obtain actionable insight. Ensure quality, interoperability, and usability.

  • Manipulate data within databases and performing analysis of data.

  • Assist in developing and maintaining the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) models and defining and mapping IT services.

  • Assist in maintaining the EIS Data Catalog, an extensible metadata platform that provides capability to catalog data sources and products that enable end-to-end discovery, data observability, and federated governance.

Individual Capabilities/Experience Required:

  • Five (5) years experience as a DBE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required. Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Five (5) years of DBE experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.

  • Experience with managing large databases, implementing backup and recovery strategies, and ensuring data integrity in applications and databases.

  • Experience in developing and maintaining integrations between databases and external systems, troubleshooting integration issues, and ensuring data synchronization

  • Knowledge of configuration management databases (CMDB).

  • Proficiency in SQL and database management systems, LDAP and table administration, LDAP integration, performance tuning, data modeling, and data security.

  • Proficiency in database management. Knowledge of database management systems like MySQL or Oracle.

Individual Capabilities/Experience Desired:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and rectify data discrepancies within the CMDB

  • Effective communication skills to work with various stakeholders and ensure the accuracy and integrity of CMDB data

  • Knowledge of ServiceNOW

  • Proficiency in Javascript
