The essential role of a CNC operator is to set up and operate CNC machines and equipment. On any given day, an operator may load and unload raw materials, prepare a test run to ensure a machine is working properly and inspect and measure finished products to ensure they meet requirements.
A CNC operator produces machined parts by programming, setting up and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine. Maintaining equipment, adhering to quality by measuring and doing onsite inspections and safety standards and keeping detailed part records are some of the core responsibilities of a CNC operator.
