Desert Parkway Behavioral Healthcare Hospital Dietary Aide (On-Call position) in Las Vegas, Nevada
The Dietary Aide performs designated work and cleaning routines for the Dietary Department.
Performs defined work routines, using various dietary utensils, supplies and equipment.
Provides assistance to the cook in the preparation and service of meals.
Meets scheduled meal and snack times.
Follows all cleaning schedules and performs cleaning duties as scheduled.
Assists with snack, salad, and dessert preparation and serving meals.
Sets up the dining room and helping serve patients.
Basic kitchen cleaning duties.
Assists in receiving and storing food supplies.
Completes side work and opening/closing duties.
Attends departmental and in-service educational programs.
Follows defined safety codes while performing all duties.
Adheres to all appropriate sanitation and safety guidelines.
This is an on-call position.
Requirements
Entry level position - will train
Previous experience in food service in a healthcare setting preferred.
Valid Nevada Food Handler Certification or in the process of obtaining.
Basic food knowledge
Ability to prepare food combinations that add interest, contrast, and variety to a menu.
Knowledge of appropriate safe food-handling techniques preferred.
Ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds.
Ability to work in different environmental temperatures and weather conditions.
Ability to interact with various patients and co-workers
Able to work varying shifts that may include weekends and holidays
Pre-employment drug screen conducted upon job offer.
