Peraton Corporation Construction Oversight Manager in Las Cruces, New Mexico
Peraton is seekinga Construction Oversight Manager Engineer to oversee and monitor all construction activities for facility upgrade projects. The Construction Oversite Manager will use their extensive construction knowledge and experience to ensure construction activities are executed safely and in accordance with the approved plans and designs. In this role you will be responsible for ensuring daily activities, problem identification, resolution and escalation are coordinated across the project with A&E, safety, general contractors and program management.
What you’ll do…
Provide daily onsite monitoring of construction projects from conception to completion
Oversee construction sites, general contractors, and workers to ensure a high level of quality and jobsite safety
Provide quality compliance field audits, ensuring supplied materials meet specifications and submittals, reporting discrepancies to the Architectural and Engineering (A&E) firm for resolution.
Generate daily project reports capturing planned/completed activities, personnel onsite, weather conditions, problems encountered, deliveries. etc.
Compile and maintain a daily photographic log of site progress, before key components are covered by subsequent work
Interface with the general contractor, attend daily contractor safety briefings, inform the contractor of any safety or quality deficiency.
Interface daily with the onsite SENSE Environment, Health, Safety (EHS) office for anything that will require EHS oversite, such as lift plans, methods of procedure (MOP), waste disposal, hazard abatement, etc.
Ensure that all construction personnel entering the site on the first day have received the EHS briefing and the contractor has provided qualification, certification and training records as appropriate to the EHS prior to starting work.
Accident/close call/ incident reporting to the EHS
Coordinate and support jobsite inspections by the A&E, EHS, or NASA/Peraton Managers
Create, review and submit to the A&E, Requests for Information, (RFI), Requests for Proposal (RFP), and Change Orders (CO).
Act as a liaison between the general contractor and Peraton and or the A&E firm.
Review work progress on daily basis and provide status to the Project Manager for schedule deliverables, cost impacts or project delays.
Monitor compliance with building codes and escalate compliance issues to the appropriate Subject Matter Expert (SME) or Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) for resolution.
Report noncompliance with contractual conditions of performance to Peraton Subcontractor Administrator (SCA) for resolution
Prepare reports pertaining to job status as necessary to support the Project Manager in developing Key Decision Point (KDP) briefings to the NASA customer.
Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones
Analyze, manage and mitigate risks, using SMEs, EHS and A&E personnel when appropriate.
Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques
You’d be a great fit if you have…
A Bachelor degree (or equivalent) in construction management, architecture, engineering and 15 years' of experience.
Proven working experience in construction or construction management.
Advanced knowledge of construction management processes, means and methods.
Expert knowledge of building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations and quality standards.
An understanding of all facets of the construction process.
Component in reading and comprehension of specifications, submittals, blueprints and shop drawings.
An ability to plan and see the “big picture”.
Excellent time and project management skills
Ability to travel approx. 10%
The ability to obtain a SECRET clearance.

An active SECRET clearance (an interim Secret clearance is acceptable to start).
Construction industry recognized accreditation or certifications.
Competent in conflict and crisis management.
Prior leadership and human resources management skills.
SECURITY CLEARANCE*This position requires the candidate to be able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance. In order to obtain a clearance you need to be a US Citizen and show proof of citizenship.
