Adient US LLC Quality Technician in Lansing, Michigan

Summary:

Performs routine checks, tests, gauging and instrument inspections of material, goods in process and finished assemblies.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Performs assigned routine tests on materials, goods in process or finished goods where results are compared with company and customer quality standards.  Report results to Team Facilitator or Quality Engineer that will make an analysis and take necessary action.
  • Performs inspections for suppliers when required to keep production flowing.
  • Determines disposition of nonconforming material for the supplier, customer and internal rejects.
  • Use proper gauges and equipment to perform evaluation of product.
  • Performs torque audits on required torque guns as scheduled.
  • Performs daily line audits, and product audits as assigned.
  • Records results of audits on the required reports and provides feedback to the Line Supervisor, Quality Engineer, or Quality Manager.
  • Visits customers to deliver replacement seats.
  • Disposition of scrap material and records information into computer daily.
  • Assess situation and make necessary decision with team facilitator as to whether production should continue when problems surface.
  • Issues supplier material rejection report and notifies supplier via phone/ fax/ email of initial issue.
  • Participate in ISO 16949 & A2LA (ISO 17025) system improvement activities, including but not limited to audits and Proficiency Testing.
  • Participate in Gage R & R studies on lab equipment. - Participate in equipment verification. - Participate in Quality Planning meetings when required.
  • Perform all roles & responsibilities as defined by the BOS policies & procedures

     

End of Line Inspector Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review the seats and determine if they meet the customer's and BWI's expectations concerning visual appearance and functionality of the seats.
  • Perform the inspection per the posted Operator Description Sheet in the required tact time for the individual workstation.
  • Complete all required documentation used for communicating issues to the supervisors and management.
  • The End of Line inspector must have good communication to help identify and resolve quality issue observed during inspection.
  • JSES Inspection (short) -- random computerized (where applicable)
  • IPPM Data Collection and reporting

     

Education Required & Preferred:

High school or technical education required.

Electrical or mechanical trades a plus

 

Experience Required & Preferred:

2 years automotive experience preferred.
