Peckham, Inc. - Operating Platforms Coordinator

SUMMARY

The Operating Platforms Coordinator is responsible for leading a team of professionals focused on the efficient management and coordination of operating platforms, such as Entra ID, Windows Server, IIS, Active Directory, VDI and related platforms within the organization. This role involves strategic planning, team management, collaboration with different departments, and ensuring the optimal performance of applications through effective administration and support. This position reports to the Director of Peckham IT, Experience Platforms.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Team Leadership:

  • Lead and manage a team of Operating Platform Administrators, Windows Server Administrators, Cloud Admins, and VDI Admins.

  • Provide mentorship, guidance, and professional development opportunities for members of the team.

  • Foster a collaborative and positive team culture.

    Strategic Planning:

  • Develop and implement a strategic plan for the effective administration of the Operating Platform infrastructure, while providing other groups guidance for the management of endpoints.

  • Collaborate with IT leadership to align application strategies with overall organizational goals.

    Application Management:

  • Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of Windows Servers, VDI, the Microsoft Cloud, and related applications.

  • Evaluate new applications, upgrades, and technologies to enhance organizational efficiency.

  • Manage vendor relationships with service and product providers.

    User Support:

  • Ensure the team provides high-quality technical support and training to end-users.

  • Report status to internal and external customers as appropriate.

  • Develop and implement processes for efficient issue resolution and user satisfaction.

    Documentation and Compliance:

  • Ensure comprehensive documentation for all applications is maintained and up-to-date.

  • Implement and enforce security measures to ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal policies. When applicable, ensure that platforms and endpoints conform to security standards as dictated by NIST 800-53, CMMC or other Federal standards.

    Performance Monitoring and Reporting:

  • Oversee the monitoring of application performance and generation of regular reports on usage, issues, and trends

  • Ensure delivery of performance reporting to external customers.

  • Analyze data to identify areas for improvement and optimization.

    Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, development, and business units, to understand requirements and address application and operating platform-related needs.

  • Act as a liaison between end-users and IT teams.

    OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain safe and clean work environment

  • Promote Peckham’s vision, values, and services to all customers and stakeholders

  • Assist in maintaining organizational wide quality standards

  • Other duties as assigned

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise a team of Operating Platform Architects, Administrators, and Specialists

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Five or more years’ experience in Information Technology.

  • Significant experience in system administration.

  • An in depth and current knowledge, of the following technologies:

  • Windows Server

  • Entra/Azure

  • Active Directory

  • Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Teams, and other products in the Microsoft Suite of offerings

  • Identity Management

  • Virtual Desktop Infrastructure

  • Customer Service : Including customer-oriented telephone and email abilities that respond quickly, competently and patiently to computer user problems and /or requests.

  • Communication : Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse user community and present ideas and solutions using written, graphical and oral methods in a user-friendly fashion to IT staff as well as to non-technical staff and end-users.

  • Problem solving : Gathering information, evaluating options and producing accurate data that may be applied to specific solutions.

  • Product and Technical Knowledge : In depth technical understanding of overall networked systems environments that exist in both enterprise and wide area network settings. Ability to quickly learn and assimilate new information to both solve issues and communicate technological ideas to others within the department and Peckham Inc. organization.

  • Training and Education : Able to present technical information to technical and non-technical audiences alike. Able to design and deliver written and graphical instructional information for user training.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in leadership and management.

  • Five or more years of System Administration experience.

  • Implementation experience involving software and hardware systems.

  • A bachelor’s degree in information technologies or closely related field of study.

  • A general understanding of the following technologies and systems in an enterprise:

  • Local Area Network Technologies

  • Wireless Technologies

  • Virtualization technologies
