As our Employment Specialist, you will help job seekers develop effective job search strategies so that they can obtain employment.
The ideal candidate is required to have a High School diploma or equivalent with at least one year of experience in business, human resources, case management, career/workforce development, or other area of social science. Bilingual preferred (any language). Global Career Development Facilitator (GCDF) Certification is preferred. Experience using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) and/or Google applications, databases, and websites is required.
Essential Job Functions
- Provides customer service to visitors, employers, and job seekers via telephone and in person.
- Assists job seekers and employers to effectively use the Pure Michigan Talent Connect website, including troubleshooting, problem solving and computer problems, and assisting customers with resumes, cover letters, and job search strategies.
- Registers job seekers for unemployment.
- Operates the Reemployment program for Ingham County.
- Navigates federal and state databases.
- Creates the monthly workshops calendar for the Ingham American Job Center, as applicable.
- Keeps events on the Camw.org calendar up to date.
- Schedules and reserves rooms for individuals using the Service Center.
- Other duties as assigned.
