Emergent Holdings Director, Risk Adjustment Operations (Emergient) in Lansing, Michigan
SUMMARY: The Director, Risk Adjustment Operations (Emergient) is responsible for consulting with business executives, and the management of multiple functions, including services and units, organizational mission, vision, objectives, structure, policy setting, and strategic planning. RESPONSIBILITIES/TASKS: * Provides dedicated executive leadership to drive strategy and support the national model for Joint Venture risk adjustment performance. * Responsible for high-level recommendations, oversight of key initiatives, and ensuring alignment with broader organizational objectives. * Oversees managers, support staff, and senior technical personnel. * Leads and directs the organization. * Responsible for a segment of the work performed by the division. * Identifies the drivers, strategies, and needs of client operations and leads internal change to support those operations. * Influences and supports the culture, values, and standards of the organization. * Direct, motivate, and develop managers and other key personnel who report to them. * Directs the development of corporate standards. * Directs the review of tools and technologies for improving performance and reducing costs. * Works closely with Business Unit Support and with appropriate business areas to ensure that business needs are understood and that services provided meet those needs. * Performs leadership duties, including performance reviews. * Has wide latitude in determining creative solutions to strategic and operational needs. * Provides vision, leadership, planning, project coordination, and management for the development of a cost-effective department, while concurrently facilitating efficient operations to meet current and future business needs within the organization. * Represents Company in community and industry, programs, and conferences. * Upon request, functions as the department head in the absence of the executive leader. * Participates in the development of programs as a strategic partner that supports the company plan. * Participates in development of annual departmental budget, monitors budget, and identifies budget discrepancies. Researches cause and makes recommendations. * Responsible for balancing workload to optimize the effectiveness of the department. DIRECTION EXERCISED: Directly supervises exempt and non-exempt staff in accordance with company policies and applicable Federal and State Laws. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, effectively interviewing, hiring, terminating, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and counseling employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems; supporting and encouraging the engagement process. This position description identifies the responsibilities and tasks typically associated with the performance of the position. Other relevant essential functions may be required. EMPLOYMENT QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in a related field. Master's degree in a related field is preferred. Relevant combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree. Continuous learning, as defined by the Company's learning philosophy, is required. Certification or progress toward certification is highly preferred and encouraged. EXPERIENCE: Ten years of progressively more responsible experience in a related environment with demonstrated technical experience that provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities. Five years management or supervisory experience in a related field is required. Bilingual skills preferred.
