The Opportunity
Nutanix is looking for a Category Manager who wants to make their mark on a growing indirect procurement organization. This role will be responsible for providing category and supplier management support for multiple organizations across multiple categories of spend. This individual should be able to develop robust global category strategies to provide Nutanix with best-in-class pricing for goods and services.

At Nutanix, the Procurement team is a close-knit group that thrives on collaboration and innovation. Comprising a manager and four full-time employees—two located in India and two in the US, along with a part-time contractor—the team works seamlessly across geographical boundaries. This diverse team dynamic fosters an environment where varied perspectives can flourish, driving better decision-making and strategic sourcing.
You will report to the Director of Procurement, who leads while encouraging a culture of open communication and teamwork. In terms of work setup, this role primarily supports remote work, allowing flexibility in your work-life balance.
Your Role
Create and implement category strategies to optimize procurement processes and achieve cost savings
Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiate contracts, and ensure supplier performance meets organizational standards.
Maintain contractual and business relationships with vendors
Conduct research and analyze market trends to identify opportunities for cost reduction and improved efficiency
Establish a strong network and fosters collaboration with customers, suppliers, key stakeholders, and team members
Partner with internal stakeholders to drive efficiencies and reduce risks and costs for the categories under management.
Develop scenario plans for evolving environment within category
Identify and mitigate risks associated with within the categories
Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to procurement activities
Assist with the company’s acquisition strategies by completing the due diligence and integration activities for the spend categories
Develop and maintain expert knowledge of respective global supply markets, competitors, and product innovations
What You Will Bring
5+ years’ experience in procurement, sourcing or related field delivering similar job outcomes
Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions
Strong negotiation skills to secure favorable terms with suppliers
Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with suppliers and internal stakeholders
Experience in managing procurement projects and initiatives
Strong leadership, collaboration and influencing skills
Strong business acumen, skillfully navigating functional priorities while delivering business objectives
Ability to develop business cases, presentations and stakeholder communications.
Experience with Coupa or site-relevant ERP systems, e-sourcing platforms, Request for quotation tools and project management tools
Work Arrangement
Remote: This position is primarily remote. There is no specific in-office requirement, however, there may be circumstances where you may be required to come into a local office for a specific purpose, and/or to travel to other locations based on business needs.
The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between USD $ 112,000 and USD $ 224,400 per year.
However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
