Woodstream is seeking an Ecommerce & Digital Marketing leader to be a central figure who will successfully drive online sales and advertising initiatives. We're seeking a highly motivated individual who will execute new product launches, create strategies to win market share, create & execute advertising plans and ultimately grow brand equity. This role will work directly with Amazon Retail and Amazon Advertising teams to plan and execute initiatives, so prior Amazon experience is a major plus. However, skills and experience gained on other ecommerce or marketing platforms, or general marketing or sales experience, will benefit candidates in this role.

    Overview of the Role:

    The Senior Ecommerce & Digital Marketing Manager role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing all strategic initiatives to maximize the sales and marketing performance across the company’s ecommerce account portfolio. Strong candidates will possess strong digital advertising & marketing knowledge and experience. They will utilize this experience and skillset to drive profitable sales growth, grow market share, increase brand equity, and meet marketing goals on budget and on time.

    This role helps plan, but most importantly, drives the execution of all aspects of our ecommerce sales and marketing plan including product selection & pricing (with a focus on optimizing products for ecommerce & to win market share), developing digital content that is SEO & conversion driven (copy, product images, infographics, videos, etc.), product review generation and insight, promotions, and full funnel digital advertising campaigns.

    Achieving success will require strong collaboration with customers, external partners, other members of Woodstream’s digital sales and marketing team, content creation teams, supply chain group, product marketing teams, and senior leadership. To achieve the role’s goals the Senior Ecommerce & Digital Marketing Manager is supported by a team of digital specialists and works directly with the Director of Ecommerce & Digital Marketing and the Chief Marketing Officer.

    Specific Responsibilities:

    The following functions are essential to accomplishing Woodstream’s digital sales and marketing objectives:

  • Gain a deep understating of our customers’ websites (Amazon, Home Depot, Walmart, Lowes, Tractor Supply, Target, etc.) and their competitive advantages and positioning to create merchandising, assortment, promotional, and pricing strategies with the goal of driving profitable account sales growth & market share gains.

  • Manage and enhance our product content in collaboration with our content marketing teams to drive visibility in search (SEO) and drive conversion by coordinating requests through our inhouse content team to implement new copy for product titles & descriptions, infographics, primary images, videos, enhanced content, etc.

  • Actively and aggressively pursues new sales & marketing opportunities and justifies their need with cost and return analysis.

  • Lead the execution of digital campaigns that range from basic promotional discounts to full funnel digital advertising campaigns including streaming TV, display advertising, sponsored product ads, etc.

  • Supports in the development of proposals, presentations and recommendations in conjunction with customer business reviews. Presents strategies, product lines and product knowledge to customers as needed.

  • Key role in both spend planning and campaign execution of customer level promotions, merchandising, and advertising spend. Diligently reports spend vs. budget and is fiscally responsible.

  • Track performance of all digital marketing campaigns with the assistance from ecommerce & marketing specialists and ensures we are meeting our objectives – if not, gives or seeks direction to optimize campaigns.

  • Must analyze sales data and market share using internal and external tools, and then effectively communicate findings to Woodstream’s sales & marketing teams with an aim to always grow sales, share, and brand equity. 

  • Product Demand Forecasting: Utilize all ecommerce inputs including future advertising and promotional plans to execute the product manufacturing forecast process.

  • Communicate effectively with buyers and merchants to uncover growth opportunities. Must be comfortable negotiating to reach mutually beneficial outcomes with buyers, external partners, as well as with internal teams.

  • Maintain a detailed record of all initiatives executed and report progress internally.

  • Use consumer insights (from reviews, databases, FAQ’s, etc.) to drive actionable sales and marketing outcomes, such as improving product content, recommend improvements to existing products, or the creation of future new products.

  • Conduct virtual visits on our external partner websites to ensure merchandising and content standards are being met, monitor and identify competitive activity, and execute pricing analysis to ensure that the correct mix of products are being offered to the consumer while also balancing profitability.

  • Collaborate with both brick and mortar sales and marketing teams in order to develop and execute cohesive marketing plans

  • Identify opportunities to automate, expedite and simplify transactions with customers and mobilize the organization in addressing them on a priority basis.

  • Assist in content database planning, maintenance, and overall strategy as it relates to ecommerce retailers.

  • Helps resolve issues with orders, pricing, inventory, or any other interruptions in service to accounts.

  • Other duties as assigned.

    Successful Candidate Profile:

  • BA/BS Marketing, Business, or Communications degree preferred.

  • 4-5 year’s experience in a digital sales and marketing position or related role.

  • Mastery of one of the following platforms (or any other similar platform): Amazon Advertising, Walmart Connect, Home Depot Retail Media, or Google Advertising. We do not expect a candidate to be proficient on all these platforms, but candidates must have strong working knowledge of at least one of them. Skills learned on one platform are transferable to the others. Woodstream will train employee on platforms new to them.

  • Strong leadership skills – must be willing to help hire, train, develop and mentor specialists to build an effective team. Prior management experience is a bonus, but leadership skills valued more

  • Demonstrated achievement in the following areas: search engine optimization, ecommerce sales management, digital merchandising, and online advertising.

  • Excellent communications skills required (oral, written, visual).

  • Well-developed analytical skills. Can effectively and efficiently understand large data sets and glean quantitative information and transform data into actionable proposals.

  • Proactive with a strong aptitude for problem solving/quick learning

  • Strategic thinker who is also hands-on

  • Strong ability to effectively manage a budget, but also able to work creatively within their means

  • Accurate and detail oriented, outstanding organizational skills and capable of executing functions efficiently 

  • Willing and able to travel to visit customers in-person for sales meetings.

  • Well-developed skills in Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint or their equivalents
