We are seeking a highly skilled Accounts Receivable Specialist to support our finance team on a temp-to-hire basis. This role is crucial in ensuring the timely and accurate collection of payments, maintaining strong customer relationships, and ensuring the smooth flow of cash into the business.

Position Overview:

The Accounts Receivable Specialist will be responsible for managing customer invoices, processing payments, handling collections, and maintaining accurate financial records. This role requires strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage high volumes of transactions. Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus but not required.

Key Responsibilities:

Invoice Management:

  • Generate and issue customer invoices in a timely and accurate manner.

  • Ensure invoices are properly coded, approved, and entered into the accounting system.

  • Reconcile customer accounts and resolve any discrepancies.

Payment Processing & Collections:

  • Process incoming payments (checks, ACH, wire transfers) and apply them to the correct customer accounts.

  • Follow up with customers on outstanding invoices and manage collections activities.

  • Communicate with customers regarding payment terms and any discrepancies in billing.

Account Reconciliation:

  • Perform monthly account reconciliations to ensure all payments are accurately recorded.

  • Investigate and resolve issues related to unapplied payments or discrepancies in receivables.

Reporting & Month-End Close:

  • Prepare accounts receivable aging reports and provide updates to management on overdue accounts.

  • Assist in the month-end closing process, ensuring all accounts receivable transactions are accurately recorded.

Customer Relations:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to ensure timely payment and resolve any billing or payment issues.

  • Work closely with the sales and operations teams to address customer inquiries and disputes.

    Requirements

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.

Experience:

  • 2+ years of experience in accounts receivable or collections, preferably in a manufacturing or high-volume environment.

  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar) is highly desirable.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel (including formulas and data analysis).

  • Familiarity with managing a high volume of customer accounts and payments.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in managing invoices and payments.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers and internal teams.

  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to handle complex billing issues and discrepancies.

Work Environment:

This position will work in a fast-paced, dynamic manufacturing environment. The role requires collaboration with the finance, sales, and operations teams to ensure efficient cash flow and customer satisfaction.
