The Division level owner for establishing and deploying Business Excellence (BEx) strategies and programs. Defines and implements strategies to improve performance and reduce cost across Core Lab Operations; QA and

throughout the Division. Leads and manages high impact change programs that significantly improve productivity and the cost structure of Core Lab's Operations.

Core Job Responsibilities:

Responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the quality system.

Responsible for:

  • Identifying and executing large scale projects to improve operating performance and reduce cost across Core Lab Operations and QA.

  • Providing support and direction on BEx programs and strategies at all Core Lab Sites to ensure they achieve their Annual Plan and LRP objectives.

  • Managing the Global Operations Project Portfolio. Ensures that high impact programs are defined; resourced and implemented in order to achieve financial objectives as defined by both the Annual and Long Range Plans.

  • Performing benchmarking and cost structure analysis to define significant opportunities for improvement. Establishes sustaining processes to evaluate cost / capacity and modeling across the Core Lab's Operations Network.

  • Establishing and implementing candidate identification; training and certification for Division Wide Lean / Six Sigma program.

Senior Leader on the Global Operations BEx Council; responsible for establishing programs and practices that drive consistent approach to achieving best in class BEx performance across Abbott.

Accountability / Scope:

  • Position reports to the Divisional Vice President Operations Strategy and has control over the strategies and programs that will enable the organization to meet short and long range objectives for profitability; quality; and customer satisfaction within all of Core Lab's functional areas including Manufacturing Operations; QA; R&D and Commercial Operations.

  • Department Budget - $3.0MM

  • Responsible for Delivering Annual Core Lab Operations and QA CIP Goal of total $10MM - $30MM savings.

  • Establishes and manages long range Manufacturing Operations and QA strategies and programs.

  • BEx projects in scope are key to achieving business objectives across all Functional areas; therefore will present to Division President and Business Leaders (DVPs; VPs) of these areas.

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelors Degree Required - Engineering; Science; Business or Finance. Masters Degree Required -

  • Business; Program/Project Management or Supply Chain. Six Sigma Blackbelt certification preferred

Minimum Experience:

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain and/or Finance

  • Minimum 3 years experience managing operations and/or large ($10MM+) programs across multiple International locations.
