Actalent Field Engineer in Lake Elmo, Minnesota

Job Title: Field EngineerJob Description

We are seeking a dedicated Field Engineer to join our team and work on various job sites around the metro area. This role involves inspecting areas prior to contractors beginning reconstruction work, utilizing instruments and equipment to detect underground sewer systems and water piping, and marking their locations both on the ground and within software programs. The information collected will be sent back to the office team to update maps and blueprints accordingly.

Responsibilities

  • Travel to different job sites in the metro area to inspect areas prior to reconstruction.

  • Utilize instruments and equipment to detect underground sewer systems and water piping.

  • Mark locations of underground utilities on the ground and within software programs.

  • Collaborate with the office team to ensure accurate updates of maps and blueprints.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in the telecom, cable, GIS, or utility industry is preferred.

  • 0-1 years of utility experience.

  • 0-1 years of survey or locator experience.

  • Field engineering knowledge.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous experience working with blueprints or maps is advantageous but not required.

  • Experience working outside in various weather conditions is preferred.

Work Environment

This role involves working outdoors around the metro area, often in varying weather conditions. Team members will ride together to job sites after meeting at the Woodbury office around 7:00 AM, although start times may vary depending on location. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
