Louisiana Bridge Builders (LBB) is designing and building the new I-10 Calcasieu River Bridge in Lake Charles, Louisiana (USA) for the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (LADOTD). LBB will also be responsible for the reconstruction of interstate highway, various structures, ramps, and approaches for a 5.5 mile stretch between I-210 West End and Ryan Street.

POSITION PURPOSE/SUMMARY
The Field Engineer is committed to supporting Louisiana Bridge Builders by providing engineering activity support to the Construction Management team throughout the lifecycle of the Project.
LOCATION
This position is based in Lake Charles, LA.
PRIMARY DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides construction site engineering resources and expertise during the construction phase of the Project.
- Plan and recommend civil procedures to be implemented by Field Supervision to ensure construction operations are within requirements of engineering design and specifications.
- Assist in interpretation of drawings and specifications for field crews and craft supervision.
- Ensure all copies of specifications and construction drawings are latest issue and distributes as required to the Superintendent(s).
- Works with construction crews and engineering leaders to plan field layout on the project site, ensuring appropriate utility and commercial lines are marked before production begins.
- Prepare RFP for important packages of work (precast, piles, concrete) in coordination with construction managers.
- Coordinate field works performed by subcontractors (sweeping, geotechnical campaign, orientations, coordination with HandS).
- Attend meetings with potential suppliers in coordination with procurement department.
- Performing all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
At a minimum, the Field Engineer must have a bachelors degree in civil engineering, construction management, or equivalent field of study, along with 4+ years of construction field related experience or a high school diploma, or equivalent, along with 8+ years of construction field related experience. Knowledge of current quality, environmental and safety standards is preferred.
