Element Materials Technology Driver/Field Technician in Lafayette, Louisiana
Overview
Element has an opportunity for a Driver/Field Technician to join us at our Lafayette, LA Facility.
Responsibilities
Prepare sampling containers and equipment
Collect and/or pick-up samples as indicated on the daily route schedule
Estimate flows for clients who do not have flow meters and require sample collection
Perform basic short hold time field tests such as: pH, Chlorine Residuals (Free or Total), and Dissolved Oxygen
Complete required paperwork (Chain of Custody)
Interact with customers
Assist in login process by splitting, recording, and distributing samples ensuring all documentation is complete and accurate
Provide management with immediate notification of quality problems while in the field
Accurately log samples into the laboratory LIMS system (windows based laboratory management software)
Accurately label each sample with a unique laboratory identification number
Responsible for transporting samples to appropriate storage locations in the lab
Provide good customer service
Provide project managers with immediate notification of quality problems with samples received
Assist with receiving of supplies/freight
Perform other duties as assigned and directed
Multi-tasking, paying close attention to detail
Skills / Qualifications
High school Diploma or Equivalent
Valid light vehicle driving license for the country of operation
Good English skills
Good in communication skills
Ability to work in teams under work under pressure.
Physical Demands:
Frequency of required physical force: Minimum (moderate).
Lifting requirements: lifting <50 lbs. often and > 50 lbs. on occasion
Ability to stand on feet for long periods of time
Ability to lift 50+lbs periodically
