The Large Power Systems Division in Lafayette, IN currently has an opening for a Stores Controller Logistics Gritz Technician . In this role you will be responsible for material availability for assembly consumption. One of the primary areas of focus for the logistics technician will be ordering parts for the Caterpillar genset assembly operation located at Girtz Industries in Monticello, Indiana. The logistics technician will also be responsible for parts labels, maintaining inventory accuracy, and computer system input of orders and interplant material movement. The Logistics Technician is responsible for communicating any potential material shortages to procurement and assembly operations as well as investigating root cause and initiating actions to acquire short material in order to avoid production impact to the business.
Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Ordering parts for assembly operations
General stores
Radiators
Spider fans
ILC
Moving material to the assembly line via stand-up fork truck
Maintaining inventory accuracy on production parts
Ad hoc counts
Count cards
End of month activity
Track parts in transit and ensure timely delivery
Execute movement of prime product in MESA system
Sign off stage in MESA (consume inventory)
Initiate nonconformance activities on defective parts and procure replacement material
Arrange logistics for return of inventory & returnables
Advise Lonestar / logistics of ESO’s needing pickup
Organize material storage at Girtz
Base receipt of material at Girtz location
Flashing of ECM control groups
Utilize computer system to input parts orders and move interplant material
Basic Qualifications:
Must have at least 2 years of stand-up fork truck experience.
Must have good written and oral communication skills.
Self-motivated, safety-conscious individual capable of working independently.
Top Candidates will also:
Be flexible to work overtime as needed to support production demands.
Possess and show strong interpersonal skills and apply customer-based focus.
Two years of fork truck experience
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 40 lbs.
Must be able to bend and twist at the waist and be able to squat.
Stand on concrete for 8+ hours.

Location of this position is in Lafayette, IN
Position available is on 1st shift (6:30am – 2:30pm)

Summary Pay Range:
$22.65 - $29.45
