Actalent Mechanical Design Engineer in Lafayette, Indiana

Description:

Our client is in need of mechanical design engineering support relating to the development of their large-scale industrial engines. This can include construction, rail, mining, agricultural, and many other applications. This is a unique opportunity to join a world leader in engine and equipment manufacturing while also developing amazing transferrable design engineering skills.

The current team has upcoming projects driving a need for a Mechanical Design Engineer to focus on design of engine components. These components include everything from the Cylinder Head through the exhaust system which includes air handling, valves, actuators, oil coolant plumbing, turbo plumbing, etc.

This candidate will spend 60-70% of their time focusing on CREO based design of engine components. When they aren't supporting design work, they may support Product Engineering task that the team supports. This is primarily design validation of components that are either pre production or in production that need modified.

The ideal candidate would have 2-3 years of Engine Design experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Must Haves

  1. BSME

  2. Engine Component Design

  3. 3D Modeling- CREO (Pro Engineer)

  4. GD&T + FEA experience
