FirstService Residential Seasonal Part Time Recreation Facility Monitor in Ladera Ranch, California

Job Overview:

The Seasonal Part Time Recreation Facility Monitor will be responsible for monitoring and reporting the use of and access to the following recreation facilities in Ladera Ranch: Sports Fields, Sports Courts, Terramor Water Park.

The Community of Ladera Ranch is located in South Orange County. The community is managed by Ladera Ranch Maintenance Corporation (LARMAC) which consists of over 8,000 homes. The community is spread out across 4,000 acres of landscape, parks, trails, pools, clubhouses, reservable indoor and outdoor spaces, water park, skate park, sports fields, tennis/pickleball courts and more.

Compensation: $19 - $20 an hour

FirstService Residential will compensate the successful candidate in accordance with the posted range. The salary or wage paid to the successful candidate will be commensurate with experience, education, and specific job responsibilities. For positions designated at a client's property, the salary or wage will also be premised upon the client's directive. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.

Job Responsibilities:

The job duties listed are typical examples of the work performed by positions in this job classification. Not all duties assigned to every position are included, nor is it expected that allpositions will be assigned every duty.

General:

  • Monitor the use of each facility, ensuring adherence to all posted rules and regulations.
  • Be visible and accessible for residents, guests, and facility users who have questions or concerns regarding the use of the facility.
  • Conduct daily visual inspection of each facility to ensure that it can be safely used by residents, guests, and permitted users.
  • Provide regular reports via Trello, email or hard copy with detailed information on attendance, facility use, or recorded incidents.

Community Sports Fields (Field Monitor):

  • Field Monitor may be stationed at Cox Sports Park or travel between various sports fields and parks throughout the Ladera Ranch community.
  • Diligently monitors the permitted users at each facility, ensuring that facility time and location are being used according to the issued permit, and that rules and regulations are being followed.
  • Ensures the appropriate use of LARMAC owned sports equipment (soccer goals, nets, corner flags, bases, etc.), including proper storage when not in use.
  • Walks each field, checking for any safety, maintenance, or landscape issues that must be addressed. Reports all issues to Sports Field Use Manager.
  • May resolve conflict between permitted and unpermitted users, or between two permitted users. Uses reasoning and judgment to provide a conflict solution.

Terramor Water Park (Seasonal – summer):

  • Operates the Water Park attendant booth, controlling access into the water park gates.
  • Operates the Water Park snack bar, including the use of a POS system for making sales.
  • Assist with preparing reservable spaces including picnic shelters and cabanas for residents.
  • Ensures that each water park user has a valid resident access card or is a guest of a resident.
  • Working with the pool attendants, monitors the safe use of the water park facility, ensuring that posted water park rules are followed by all users at all times.
  • Immediately reports any safety, maintenance, or other issues to the Sports Field Use Manager.

Education & Experience:

  • Knowledge and experience in sports and recreation is preferred.
  • Completion of some college course work is preferred.

Physical Requirements & Working Environment:

  • Must be able to lift 25lbs.
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Must have finger dexterity for typing/using a keyboard.
  • Must be mobile enough to move around office in order to make copies, send mail and faxes.
  • Work is performed in a variety of environmental conditions, with exposure to outdoor temperatures at times.
  • Work duties may require the ability to stand or walk on hard surfaces for frequent and prolonged periods of time.
  • Must be able to respond to phone calls and emails and communicate to staff, residents, and vendors in a timely manner.
  • Consistent and regular attendance required.

Tools & Equipment Used:

  • Valid California State Driver’s License and state-mandated insurance.
  • Must have reliable transportation to perform community drives.
  • General office equipment.
  • General PPE
