A registered nurse implements the nursing process for each patient/resident (infancy to geriatrics depending on scope of care in the nursing department in which he/she works) assigned to his/her care.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
The following is a summary of the major functions of this individual's job. He/she may perform other duties, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below, and specific functions may change from time to time.
1. Assesses patient/resident clinical status
2. Develops a plan of care
3. Implements/oversees the implementation of the nursing care plan
4. Evaluates effectiveness of care plan
5. Communicates & validates patient care information
Minimum Education, Training, and Experience
* Active Kentucky RN License required
* BCLS required
- NIHSS Required
* BSN Required except as noted:
* Individuals hired as a Staff RN prior to October 1, 2013 are grandfathered and exempt.
* Individuals actively employed by the system prior to October 1, 2013 are eligible for hire as a new graduate nurse without a BSN provided they enroll within one (1) year of transfer and complete their BSN within five (5) years of hire.
* Experienced RNs hired after October 1, 2013 who do not hold a BSN may only be hired with the approval of the CNO and/or applicable Vice President provided the RN enrolls in a BSN program within one (1) year of hire and completes their BSN within five (5) years of hire.
* ACLS & PALS required
