The Technical Trainer - Manufacturing Engineering is responsible to coordinate, implement, support, and communicate training efforts under the guidance of operations leadership, and works with all levels of staff to help create and conduct training and recertifications. The successful candidate will be highly self-motivated with well-developed problem solving and interpersonal skills. This includes a strong ability to lead teams, manage projects and influence others in a cross-functional environment of production processes, such as machining, welding, fabrication, and assembly, related to the manufacturing of HVAC centrifugal chillers. Where is the work:

This position will be onsite each day in La Crosse, WI and is considered safety-sensitive.

What you will do:

  • Work with all levels of staffing to determine training needs and coordinate and schedule training in both production and office atmospheres.

  • Give plant tours and present material in a classroom, lab or shop atmosphere to a group of individuals.

  • Track and maintain accurate training records and requirements utilizing computerized and web-based systems.

  • Develop necessary training materials and tools with the BOS standard as guidance.

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of all training initiatives and implement changes as necessary.

  • Must be willing to learn subjects that are being trained such as brazing, welding, wiring, TLDP, PIV, lean, etc.

  • Conduct line audits of newly certified employees to assure they can adapt to the process, are using the proper PPE required, and verify that quality standards are being met.

  • Establish, design, and deliver quality presentations regarding safety, quality, and techniques used to train on new and existing processes, and update existing processes to OSHA standards.

  • Lead and participate on miscellaneous projects and continuous improvement teams utilizing Lean Manufacturing tools and methodology.

What we expect of you:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.

• Degree preferred in Engineering or related technical disciplines; minimum of high school diploma or GED required.

• Ability to accurately assess manufacturing issues related to process and design.

• Effective communication at multiple levels coupled with ability to build relationships.

• Growth mindset – desire to expand technical skillset.

• Results-driven to maintain accountability and customer-focus

Compensation:

Base Pay Range: $80,000-$110,000.

Disclaimer: This base pay range is based on US national averages. Actual base pay could be a result of seniority, merit, geographic location where the work is performed.
