Johnson Controls Engineering Manager in Kolkata, India

What you will do

T he primary responsibility for this role is to manage post-sales engineering for Controls, Mechanical, Fire and Security System global projects as per country specific standards . Develop, manage team of delivery managers, project lead s and team members to support regional engineering activities. M aintain pro ject quality, on time delivery and manage escalation s. Should h andle multiple regions/engineering scopes with delivery managers, total team of 40-6 0 peoples. Drives innovation and continuous imp rovement, M entor and monitor performance of team and individual team members .

How you will do it

  • Drive Regional Strategy to meet / exceed Revenue Target

  • Effectively coordinate with Regional Ops. Team to drive revenue conversion & Margin improvement initiatives.

  • Manage engineering resources efficiently across regions to optimize operations cost

  • Monitor Engineering cost Vs Revenue to prevent under absorption

  • Publish Regional engineering team performance report on monthly basis to all Stakeholders

  • Establish strategy / mechanism to drive savings to improve margins

  • Participate in Ops Review meeting

  • Weekly review of Job Tracker to ensure timely completion of the request.

  • Publish Engineering Performance report on monthly basis.

  • Identify and drive team development activities

  • Co-own business performance targets for region along with Account management counterpart and ensure that revenue/sales targets are met.

  • Expand the JC / CoE Branch engagement

  • Analyze region-wise business performance and upkeep organizational design to meet business needs

  • Manage relationship between JC branch / CoE customers and India CoE for ease of business

  • Resource capacity allocation between different delivery teams in region

  • Drive operational excellence and reviews for team.

  • Implement customer segmentation model; apply individual quality standards and work processes by different customer segments

  • Drive continuous process to develop the knowledge, skills and capabilities of individuals, teams and organizations to develop and deliver organizational strategy, plans and objectives .

  • Manage account receivables

  • Build positive and productive working relationships with customers for business growth

  • Perform resource allocations to projects according to delivery requirements and ensure optimum utilization of team

  • Ensure that team maintains high level of competence and operational excellence

  • Drive project reviews & ensure highest quality on all deliveries

  • Performance management and evaluation of performance of the team by providing continuous feedback on set goals, expectations, and achievements

  • Mentor the team members and ensure they met competency target and organization expectations.

  • Drives innovation and continuous improvement to form high performance culture in team .

    What we look for

  • BE/ME (Instrumentation / Electrical / Electronics / Electronics & Communication).

  • Strong knowledge of Fire and Security domains with different types of product lines etc.

  • Knowledge of Controls, Mechanical, Fire alarm, VESDA, Access control, Closed circuit television and other building and facility security systems.

  • Experience in engineering of Controls, Mechanical, Fire and Security systems for infrastructure projects like pharmaceuticals, airports, commercial buildings and hospitals .

  • Must be a quick learner & should have a keen eye for problem solving .

  • Should be good in people management and team management.

  • Proficient in wr itten and verbal communication.

  • Ability to demonstrate good leadership skills .

  • Improve operational management systems, processes and best practices . Formulate strategic and operational objectives

    Preferred

    12 to 1 8 years of relevant experience in Install and design engineering along with people management experience .
