Location : N7650 Lakeshore Drive Sheboygan WI 53083-Mosel Plant
Under the direction of the Manager, Manufacturing Engineering, the Engineer of Small Assembly will be responsible for safety, quality, on-time delivery, cost reductions, productivity and continuous improvements in their assigned areas. The Engineer of Small Assembly responsibilities will include implementation of Kohler Operating System/Lean Manufacturing principles.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
· Implement and sustain Kohler Operating System (KOS) principles in the department.
· Participate in continuous improvement (KOS events/workshops), productivity improvement and cost reductions efforts in the area of responsibility to constantly improve the process and lower the cost.
· Develop safe and ergonomically correct processes. Work with production supervision and maintenance to correct any unsafe conditions.
· Analyze operations and sequence of operations to assure full utilization and maximum quality from present equipment. Answer and respond to inquiries related to the assembly processes.
· Monitor production builds. This involves working closely with Production Foreman, Supervisors, and Design Engineers to ensure production problems are resolved.
· Coordinate introduction of new products to production. Work closely with Design Engineering, Marketing, and the production floor to effectively implement new products into production. Establish shop routings for all new products and engineering specials. Evaluate capacity requirements to ensure production capability of manufacturing new products.
· Provide technical support and monitor critical processes in the department.
· Provide required support for ISO9001. Work closely with ISO coordinating team and production employees to ensure compliance to ISO9001 standards.
· Follow procedures established for Manufacturing Engineering to execute design changes, implementation of procedures and reference documents, and all documented responsibilities of Process Engineering.
