Medical Assistant

Knoxville TN/ Day shift Monday - Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm

As a Medical Assistant, you will assist the provider throughout the clinic with a variety of duties, primarily serving patients over the phone with RX verification and appointment follow-up. You will also prepare and maintain patient charts, schedule and coordinate appointments, and perform basic clinical tasks such as taking vital signs and medical histories.

Responsibilities

  • Primarily serving patients over the phone with RX verification & appointment follow up - Occasional scheduling

  • Prepare and maintain patient charts to includeinsurance, registration, correspondence, laboratory and radiology reports,track and request patient records, slides and films; document as necessary in the charts

  • Schedule and coordinate appointments, scans and tests; confirm appointments; notify appropriate departments, in writing, of daily and weekly patient schedules

  • Receive incoming calls to assist patients, physicians and others with patient related matters; relay diagnostic testresults to patients per physician's discretion; conduct follow-up phone calls to patients with problems and "no-shows"

  • Perform BP, TPR and weight on each patient

Qualification

  • MA license

  • BLS certification

  • Experience with triage, medical records, and telehealth

  • Ability to perform basic clinical tasks such as taking vital signs and medical histories

Position: Onsite

Schedule : Mon-Friday 8:00 to 5:00pm

Pay:$18-$22

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Excellent communication abilities, particularly over the phone

  • Experience with scheduling and coordinating patient appointments

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.
