Summary THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a AIRCRAFT MECHANIC (TITLE 32), Position Description Number NGD1525000 and is part of the TN 134th ARW Air National Guard. This vacancy is covered by Association of Civilian Technicians (ACT), Chapter 114 (Smoky Mountain Chapter). Responsibilities As an AIRCRAFT MECHANIC, WG-8852-12, you will direct, monitor or perform overall maintenance, servicing, inspections and documentation for one or more aircraft. Ensure aircraft documentation and Maintenance Information Systems (MIS) accurately reflect the airworthiness of the Aircraft. Perform in-process and final inspection of aircraft and components undergoing repair, overhaul and/or modification to verify and certify by signature adherence to work techniques, procedures and quality standards established by applicable publications. Plan, develop and conduct training during the technician work week to a multi facet workforce comprised of from 3 to 8 assigned military positions. Prepare for and participate in various types of readiness evaluations, inspections, mobilization and command support exercises and Operations Other Than War (OOTW). Perform additional duties as required. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Military Grades: E-3 through E-6 Compatible Military Assignments: 2A5XX GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience or training that has provided you with the skill to remove and replace aircraft parts, accessories, and components, and to make adjustments and settings according to established specifications. Must be skilled in the use of hand tools and test equipment. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: In addition to the journeyman level knowledge, must have 18 months experience which demonstrates the ability to plan, organize, and lead the work of others in fields directly related the repair function of this occupational series. Experience and ability to perform administrative functions; to read and interpret a variety of technical publications used in the repair of supported equipment. Must have the ability to provide guidance to others in work related directly to this occupational series. Education Education Requirement: High School Diploma/GED Substitution of Education to qualify for this position is not available.
