ASM Global Accounting Coordinator(N) in Knoxville, Tennessee

ASM Global has an excellent and immediate opening for a full time, Accounting Specialist position with ASM Global Knoxville. This position is responsible for client event billing, accounts payable processing, point-of-sale accounting, and event service support when needed. This position is also responsible for verifying, correcting, and posting accounting entries, month-end reporting and accounting, and account reconciliations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Include the following:

  • Billing process, including:

  • Interpretation of transaction data entered in booking system

  • Determination that billing is in-line with contract, including F&B credit, discounts, etc

  • Follow-up with appropriate personnel for questionable and/or missing items

  • Securing required pre-final review/approval of all billing invoices

  • Research and resolution of billing/payment discrepancies

  • Accounts Receivable, including:

  • Posting of billings into accounting system

  • Applying customer payments, after independent accounting

  • Processing credit card payments and posting in accounting system

  • Prepare daily or weekly deposits

  • Accounts Payable, including:

  • Reviewing invoices and securing approvals for payment and entering in accounting system

  • Coding invoices for payment

  • Entering checks for approval and printing, and/or initiating ACH payments

  • Analyzing, verifying, correcting, and posting accounting entries

  • Reconciling and posting all point-of-sale transactions for all venues

  • Performs reconciliation of complex financial transactions and accounts

  • Interacts with other departments, clients, and vendors as needed

  • Monthly reporting and reconciliations

  • Monthly inventory control and related auditing

  • Manage credit card processing control process (leading to PCI compliance)

  • Independent verification of monthly liquor inventory count/analysis

  • Perform event Service Desk responsibilities and other event support, if needed

  • Monitor billing email address for any exhibitor and vendor orders

  • Process petty cash reimbursements

  • Process purchase order requests

  • Must be able to work occasional extended and/or irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed

  • All other duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience

  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent experience

  • Two years of general accounting experience, preferably in hospitality industry

  • Must have skill in the use of personal computers and be knowledgeable in MS Excel, Word, Teams, and computerized accounting systems

    Skills and Abilities

  • Must have attention to detail

  • Must have good oral and written communication skills

  • Must have strong customer service skills

  • Must be able to adapt to changes in the work environment, managing competing demands, frequent changes, delays or unexpected events

  • Must have strong interpersonal skills

  • Must have good organizational skills

  • Ability to multi-task and establish priorities

  • Must be able to pass and maintain PCI compliance

  • Must be able to pass criminal and credit background check

    Computer Skills

  • Must have considerable skill in the use of personal computers and be knowledgeable in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and computerized accounting systems

  • Possess knowledge of financial systems- Microsoft Dynamics SL, Microsoft D365

  • VenueOps experience is a plus
