Summary:
The Improvement Nurse Coach is responsible for enhancing patient care quality and outcomes by implementing evidence-based practices and fostering a culture of continuous improvement on the inpatient units. This role involves coaching/education nursing staff, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, and utilizing data to identify areas for improvement.
Responsibilities:
Coaching and Mentoring:
Provide guidance and support to nursing staff in implementing best practices and improving patient care processes.
Work with quality liaison and facilitate training sessions quality improvement initiatives.
Mentoring new hired employee’s.
Quality Improvement:
Identify opportunities for quality improvement within the nursing practice and patient care processes.
Collaborate with nursing leadership to develop and implement strategies to enhance patient outcomes.
Data Analysis:
Collect, analyze, and interpret data related to patient care quality and outcomes.
Use data to identify trends, track progress, and inform decision-making.
Interdisciplinary Collaboration:
- Work closely with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to promote a team-based approach to patient care.
Patient Safety:
Advocate for patient safety and quality care standards.
Assist in the development and implementation of protocols to reduce errors and improve patient safety.
Policy Development:
Contribute to the development and revision of nursing policies and procedures to align with best practices and regulatory standards.
Ensure compliance with accreditation and regulatory requirements related to patient care.
Professional Development:
Stay current with nursing trends, evidence-based practices, and quality improvement methodologies.
Pursue ongoing education and professional development opportunities in nursing and quality improvement.
Other Information
Other information:
Education:
- Minimum of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
Licensure:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of clinical nursing experience in an acute care setting.
Previous experience in quality improvement, education, or leadership roles is preferred.
