Genesis Community Homes Residential Lead Support (RLS) in King Of Prussia, Pennsylvania

The Residential Lead Support is a person who is focused on our individuals health, safety, their socialization and physical environment.  They are concerned with the individuals living their best life now. This person is engaged and able to listen to the individuals and put things in place for each individuals fulfillment (ie.. trips or outings, activites menu items, TV shows, movies, etc...). This person is attentive to how the individuals are feeling and able to evaluate if the current program structure is effective in each person's life.  The RLS is involved in identifying supports each person needs to be successful in their everyday lives.  The RLS is someone who can take ownership of the program: make sure the needs of those in the program are met and that the mission of Geneis Community Homes is being fulfilled. This person must be able to work with a team and be an active part of the team. This person must be able to work with limited supervision. 

Responsibilities 

  • Identify supports that will assist the individuals in being successful in their everyday lives. Supports may be reminders, prompting, modeling, hands on training, helping to complete a task.  

  • Ensure social and physical environment is therapeutic (clean, free from clutter and broken items.)

``` - As the leader you are to ensure cleanliness of the program which may mean you must clean.  (If it's necessary for you to clean it should be reported to the Program Administrator immediately) 

  • Set/Schedule weekly social activities with the individuals in the community 

  • Transport to and from events, appointments, outings and community employment  

  • Daily Track attendance (tracking work schedule or if an individual visits family/leaves the program) report weekly to Program Specialist 

  • Ensure room cleaning is complete weekly. Individual should participate.

``` - Do laundry or verify that laundry is done weekly. 

  • Upon delivery check all medication for accuracy and proper containment in the blister pack. 

  • Communicate to Genesis designee when there is a need for a medication refill. 

  • Contact the landlord/management office as necessary. (repairs/emergency maintenance) 

  • Know the needs of each individual (sundries, clothes, personal effects)

``` - Address the individuals concerns within your authority and forwarding concerns when needed. 

  • Manage Social Security spending and secure all receipts.  

  • Prepare a house menu for 2 weeks, Submit for approval, Update/Change as necessary  

  • Complete a grocery list in direct correlation to the menu 

  • Cook meals for breakfast, lunch and prep for dinner.

``` - Read ISPs annually and attend ISP meetings 

  • Reconcile Petty Cash 

  • Sort/Route incoming mail 

  • Decorate the house for holidays (according to the individuals wants) 

  • Complete orientation checklists for new staff

``` - Make doctor appointments as needed (communicate this with team right away) 

  • Coordinate staff taking medical appointment based on the completed work schedule 

  • Create and implement new systems as needed (alone time for a person, grocery shopping, laundry/room cleaning...)

Job Specifications 

EDUCATION:  High School Diploma or GED  

 

EXPERIENCE:  Experience working with adults with intellectual/ developmental disabilities and/or mental health diagnoses.  Basic experience with Apps on a smart phone (When I Work) preferred.  Must possess and maintain valid driver's license and be at least 21 years of age. 

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:  Regularly requires standing, walking, bending, stooping, climbing stairs, cleaning. Often requires lifting of weight up to 50lbs. Requires physical ability to successfully perform CPR, First Aid techniques. Operates Genesis Community Homes Vehicles.   

 

TRAI ING:  Required courses as per licensing regulations, ie. Training syllabus.  

 

LEVEL OF SUPERVISION:  Limited.  This position reports directly to the Program Administrator 

 

OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURE:  Regularly works inside areas that are adequately lighted and ventilated.  May occasionally work outside while instructing outdoor activities or community outings. Occasionally exposed to equipment and machinery with moving parts. Exposed to household cleaning supplies. Protective equipment: gloves, protective eyewear, disposable masks, disposable gown and close-toed shoes. Possible exposure to blood borne pathogens and COVID 19.
