Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Job Description
The Maintenance Technician role involves performing a variety of maintenance tasks including HVAC system maintenance by changing filters and cleaning coils, replacing and repairing valves and sensors, and conducting pipe replacements as needed. You will be responsible for minor carpentry tasks like repairing floors, doors, and furniture, as well as handling plumbing issues such as unclogging and fixing toilets, urinals, and sinks. Additionally, you will be exposed to building automation systems and ticket ordering while managing time effectively to supervise subcontractors and complete assigned routine tasks.
Responsibilities
Disassemble and reassemble fixtures, fans, pumps, HVAC equipment, and other building-related equipment.
Demonstrate general plumbing, electrical, and carpentry skills.
Understand building systems and operations including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, life safety systems, and building envelope.
Operate a forklift, scissor lift, and aerial lift competently.
Utilize a personal computer, cell phone, and/or electronic tablet effectively.
Adapt to dynamic priorities, changing customer expectations, and complete work requests efficiently with high-quality standards.
Manage unexpected downtime productively while contributing to high-quality results.
Support non-customary schedules and weekend work as needed.
Essential Skills
HVAC system maintenance expertise.
Electrical and plumbing maintenance skills.
Holder of a CFC Universal certificate.
Commercial building maintenance experience.
Familiarity with electrical components in office spaces and bathrooms.
Preventive maintenance skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Ideally 5+ years of commercial building maintenance experience.
Plumbing, HVAC, and light electrical experience.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Ability to follow instructions and complete general maintenance tasks.
Basic computer skills for reporting, researching, and effective communication.
Organizational skills to maintain facility maintenance records and reports.
Time management skills to coordinate and supervise subcontractors.

Work Environment
The position operates during the second shift within an office environment, frequently interacting with office occupants. Employees are expected to maintain a clean and professional appearance, with casual dress requirements. A positive attitude and excellent customer service skills are essential.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bethesda, Maryland.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $30.00/hr.
