Job Title: Lab Technician

Job Description

Perform laboratory tests such as pH, Density, Viscosity, Percent Solids, and Moisture. Use analytical equipment such as Analytical Balance, Thermal Analysis, pH Meter, Karl Fischer Titration (KFT), and other relevant tools. Conduct raw materials testing, in-process testing, and finished product testing. Assist with method development of testing methods. Document all testing data and corresponding information. Maintain a safe, clean working environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform laboratory tests including pH, Density, Viscosity, Percent Solids, and Moisture.

  • Use and maintain analytical equipment such as Analytical Balance, Thermal Analysis tools, pH Meters, and KFT.

  • Conduct testing on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products.

  • Assist with the development and validation of new testing methods.

  • Accurately document all testing data and maintain detailed records.

  • Ensure laboratory and work areas are clean and safe at all times.

Essential Skills

  • Strong experience in chemistry lab work.

  • Experience in quality lab testing and chemistry testing.

  • Proficiency in using analytical equipment such as Analytical Balance, Thermal Analysis, pH Meters, and KFT.

  • Ability to perform and document laboratory tests accurately.

  • Knowledge of quality control principles and practices.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field.

  • Experience in Quality Lab Testing and Quality Control.

  • Experience in R&D Lab Testing and Product Development.

  • Familiarity with formulation techniques and R&D processes.

Work Environment

Work in a brand new laboratory within a newly built global manufacturing site for agro and lawn/turf products. Collaborate with a team of eight to ten lab technicians and chemists. Initially work Wednesday through Saturday from 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for the first three months, focusing on quality lab testing. Transition to a Monday through Friday schedule with a greater focus on R&D lab work and product development as things settle. The role involves 90% lab work and 10% documentation and other quality control activities.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.44 - $28.85/hr.
