As an OT Network Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the operational technology network infrastructure at Benton PUD. Your expertise will be critical for ensuring the reliability, security, and efficiency of our OT systems.

The primary purpose of this position is to support or lead the District's Operational Technology control system network to include: researching, architecting, designing, troubleshooting, documenting, and implementation of key network, radio, and computing resources; provide the enterprise security architecture for District technology and information systems; safeguard systems from attack by unauthorized users and design systems and countermeasures to protect against security breaches; develop and carry out information security plans and policies.

Accountabilities

Support the District's mission to serve our customers and foster a positive workplace by personally choosing behavior aligned with our values and ethical code.

Monitor, audit, and execute security controls and tools to maintain network security by identifying potential security issues to include performing network security threat/impact assessments and scans, recommending security measures, installing and monitoring security devices, and installing patches, and updates as needed; lead mitigations efforts to remediate discovered security deficiencies.

Manage the risk of security exposure or compromise within District OT systems by providing awareness training on information security standards, policies and best practices.

Participate as a key member of the Security Incident Response Team by following the approved Cyber Security Incident Response Plan, providing key network security analysis, documentation, evidence gathering, and remediation as needed.

Provide professional guidance and recommendations to ensure the security and resiliency of the District's IT/OT Infrastructure and business systems by staying current with emerging trends in cyber security.

Ensure a reliable IT/OT network infrastructure by promoting system changes to production environments and documenting current system configuration in accordance with the approved District Configuration Change Management process, monitoring infrastructure performance and availability, and troubleshooting and tuning programs.

Ensure a reliable and scalable IT/OT network infrastructure by designing and maintaining a robust infrastructure including cabling, switches, routers, terminal servers, fiber optics, radio, and other networking equipment.

Monitor performance of District network resources by establishing real-time and historical monitoring and reporting tools, setting up threshold-based notifications to alert key staff of potential service-impacting issues, and logging and interpreting network traffic and throughput for required analysis.
