[**[Description [[Possesses a thorough understanding of operational principles, applications, and constraints related to gate, globe, check, ball, and butterfly valves. Skilled in disassembling, repairing, adjusting, and reassembling these valves. Capable of recognizing valve markings, knowledgeable about valve nameplates, component identifications, valve match markings, and valve inspection reports. Advanced skills may include rigging, and mechanical lapping and seat repair (EFCO / Lars Lap)

  1. Perform all duties safely and work in accordance with customer or CRANE procedures.
  2. Disassemble, inspect, perform measurements, and assemble various types of valves (Gate, Globe, Check, Ball, Butterfly).
  3. Properly use and handle MandTE. Takes exact measurements of critical valve components using calipers, micrometers torque wrenches.
  4. Perform pressure seal valve maintenance. Performing basic procedure to install pressure seal gaskets on valves.
  5. Perform valve repacks and adjustments including packing consolidation.
  6. Replace valve body to bonnet gaskets, flange gaskets, and other gaskets as necessary.
  7. Perform valve blue checks and interpret results.
  8. Can perform the basic procedure for manual lapping a valve seat.

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • One year mechanical and/or electrical maintenance and repair experience.
  • Ability to read blueprints.
  • Mechanical knowledge a plus.
  • Must have a strong commitment to meeting customer requirements and continuous improvement.
  • Must be able to work in teams while effectively communicating.

    • General Valve Training OR Challenge
    • General Valve Exam (TM-20)

Willing to work 12 hour rotating shifts, up to 72 hours per week.

Ability to travel and be away from home for several weeks up to several months; must be able to travel and support all domestic projects.
