Summary:
Responsible for implementing and maintaining Rail Operations critical networks that are used by the Signal Systems, SCADA, and Positive Train Control (PTC) systems.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Configures ACL, VLANS, NAT, VPN, etc., in Cisco firewalls, routers, and switches.
Configures MPLS-TP system made by OTN Systems.
Work on high level design documentation, test procedures and oversee installation and repair
Troubleshoots and solves network problems to the field devices located throughout NJ by working with internal and external groups. Be familiar with custom Rail equipment to aid in troubleshooting.
Develops and deploys methodology for providing network performance statistics reports and security event reports, using Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) programs.
Maintains system according to policies and procedures for network administration.
Conducts research, and recommends network products, services, protocols and standards in support of network procurement and development efforts.
Knowledge and Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related area from a US Department of Education accredited college or university plus three (3) years of experience in computerized industrial control/manufacturing systems, network communications for Industrial Control Systems (ICS) systems or serial data communications is required. CISCO/CCNA and certifications are a plus.
Knowledge of Rail or Highway signal systems and traction power systems are highly desired.
One year of closely related work experience can be substituted for each year of education required.
