Summary:

Roles and Responsibilities:
Performs quality assurance oversight of all phases of manufacture (or remanufacture) of major equipment, both on vendor's property and NJ TRANSIT property, by conducting thorough quality inspections.
Establishes systems for monitoring performance of new and rebuilt equipment during testing and revenue service utilizing computer databases. Produces reports weekly or on demand.
Maintains close contact with vendor and equipment during testing and revenue service, and assists with technical problems that arise. Submits warranty claims, and follows-up to assure quick and appropriate action by vendor.
Develops new procedures and revises existing ones for maintenance of equipment, including Standard Maintenance Procedures, Rail Operating Procedures and Maintenance Bulletins.
Works closely with Rail Operations/Mechanical in shops and at outlying facilities throughout the system to make improvements to the maintenance process and support the operation.
Education, Experience, and Qualifications:
Baccalaureate Degree in Engineering or related area.
Good oral and written communication skills required.
Must have good working knowledge of Windows programs, including MS Word and Excel.
One (1) year experience in Quality Assurance or an engineering field can be substituted for each year of the educational requirement.

Salary range $75,000 - $85,000
