Honeywell Security Manager - Classification Office Manager in Kansas City, Missouri
Summary
The Security Manager manages Security personnel and subsequent programs in a manner that allows the organization to adhere to processes, regulatory standards, contractual standards, and customer expectations. Directly assists senior management on projects involving a wide variety of functions, and develops, coordinates, and directs the implementation of initiatives or projects. This person is responsible for leadership and guidance to improve and ensure security requirements are met. This person plans, assigns, and accounts for the activities of assigned direct reports and influences across functions to coordinate an effective security program.
Duties and Responsibilities
Evaluates reports, decisions, and results of functional programs in relation to established goals. Interacts with senior management to formulate and implement strategies necessary to meet divisional objectives.
Represents senior management, as directed, in meetings or appropriate functions. May act as a direct customer interface on assigned projects.
Develops project plans to identify resources necessary to deliver divisional objectives on schedule and within budget.
Monitors the progress of projects, reports results, and initiates corrective action as required.
Directly supervises employees and performs other managerial responsibilities including interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Mentor Personnel within the Security Division in promotion of self-growth and career development.
Directs and facilitates divisional projects, technical and/or operational efforts that cross divisions/functions, including the application of sound management techniques to reduce costs and improve operations.
Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements within the division in efficiency of services performed. Utilizes best-practice and innovative processes to define, coordinate, and implement procedural changes to assure cost-effective operations throughout the division.
Works independently to ensure timely implementation and compliance with current government policies and directives related to security operations.
Interfaces with both internal and external customers across multiple agencies and organizations.
You Must Have
At least 7 years of expanding responsibilities for key security program and/or project management roles.
Bachelor's degree required in business related field and applicable security experience with program management.
Ability to travel as determined by the needs of the business.
Ability to work remote, hybrid, or on-site as directed by management and is determined by the needs of the business.
Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job.
United States Citizenship.
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance (some positions require additional DOE designations).

Experience as a Derivative Classifier within the Department of Energy (DOE) / National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA).
Experience with managing Classification Programs (Use Control, Classification Training, Unclassified Nuclear Information).
Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams and assignments.
Master’s degree in Business, Security, Engineering, Scientific, Computer Science or related field preferred.
Highly effective organizational, interpersonal, communication, and group leadership skills are required.
Effective, proven ability in decision making, problem solving, and influencing others.
Initiative, strategic thinking, sound reasoning, business acumen and analytical skills.
Ability to present analysis with clarity and professionalism; must be comfortable interacting with senior level management and portraying a strong professional image.

Independent, self-starter, with a strong work ethic, high degree of motivation and the ability to contribute to a positive team attitude, proven dedication to teamwork, leadership, and integrity within a professional environment.
Certain positions within this classification may require a particular expertise or knowledge. Functional expert in a primary specialty with substantial subject matter experience.
