UMB Bank PWM Business Analyst Sr in Kansas City, Missouri

As the Sr. Business Analyst, you will execute on business analysis activities and projects within Private Wealth Management. This role is hybrid (Tues/Wed/Thur on site).

How you’ll spend your time:

  • Primarily focused on executing on high complexity projects, tasks and responsibilities.

  • Senior mentor for other associates on the team; regularly provides guidance and feedback on best practices.

  • Point of escalation within the team for resolving time sensitive business problems.

  • Works collaboratively with other functions in Private Wealth to resolve complex client related issues, escalations, and special projects.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert within the Private Wealth line of business on key business processes and digital experiences.

  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness when executing on system enhancements and process improvements.

  • Work across multiple business lines, as well as with individuals across the Bank, to thoroughly vet enhancement requests by evaluating processes and helping to provide requirements.

  • Prepare documentation and conduct training to assist with end-user adoption of system changes.

  • Collaborate with IT and functional leaders to identify opportunities for process improvements, recommend system modifications.

  • Create appropriate documentation for stakeholders, end users, and scope of responsibility.

  • Analyze business problems and deliver solutions aligned with the most appropriate solution.

  • Drive identification of requirements across business units through thorough processes evaluation and train end-users on process and/or system changes.

  • Monitor and escalate project risks and issues, as appropriate.

  • Adhere to business deadlines and commitments; serve as project manager for projects assigned.

  • Lead and facilitate meetings.

  • Participate in cross-functional teams.

  • Ensure adherence to corporate policy, operational policy, and regulatory guidance.

  • Other duties as assigned.

  • You possess a Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or combination of education and experience that provides and equivalent background.

  • You have 5+ years of applicable experience within Financial Services.

  • Great communicator with strong interpersonal skills.

  • Systems thinking and complex problem solving.

  • Attention to detail, yet ability to grasp big picture.

  • Highly organized and can effectively multi-task.

  • Understanding of financial services best practices and a knack for generating “wow” moments for clients.

  • Able to balance a client experience mindset when managing and controlling business risks.

  • Ability to work independently, collaborating with others to accomplish client objectives.

  • Ability to adapt to changing information and business needs.

  • Demonstrated ability to learn and communicate complex and detailed information.

  • Analytical problem solver with the ability to think creatively.

  • General knowledge of new account opening, investments, client onboarding requirements and cash management.

  • Organize and prioritize activities to ensure completion within established deadlines.

  • Exceptional written communication.

  • Strong proficiency of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint).

  • Knowledge of wealth management software applications and related tools.

  • Proficiency in Salesforce CRM software.

  • Proficiency in UMB custody and clearing platforms such as SEI and Fidelity Wealthscape Proficiency with eMoney client portal and financial planning software.

  • Proficiency in Workday, Peoplesoft, Archer, Skillport and Hyperion.

Bonus points if:

  • You have demonstrated business analysis or product management experience within a wealth management institution.

  • You have knowledge of Personal Trust, Custody, and Investment Management service offerings and account types.

  • You have working knowledge of complex account types.

  • You have demonstrated experience with a wide range of wealth management business problems.

  • You have general knowledge of compliance rules and regulations within wealth management.

Compensation Range:

Minimum: $57,760.00 - Maximum: $149,000.00

The posted compensation range on this listing represents UMB’s standard for this role, but the actual compensation may vary by geographic location, experience level, and other job-related factors.
